Trecision Assigns US Licensing Rights for "The Watchmaker" to Got Game Entertainment
Trecision S.p.A., Italy's most important videogames developer, has entered a publishing deal with Got Game Entertainment (GGE), a division of US company Sales In Action, which will publish and distribute the adventure game The Watchmaker in the USA, Canada and South America.
The PC-only game, an intriguing adventure set in an Austrian castle, has already been successfully published in a number of countries. The Watchmaker is currently being localized for its US debut. All of its technical and gameplay contents will be left unchanged. GGE anticipates a Q2.2002 release date for the title whose arrival has been eagerly awaited by a large number of fans of the adventure-game genre.
According to Massimiliano Sacchi, Sales and Marketing Director at Trecision
"We are absolutely happy to have signed a deal with Got Game Entertainment. We have been looking for a company who would take The Watchmaker to the market in USA, but the game category is today rather limited in size. It is therefore quite difficult for many companies to reach significant volumes of sales, which has prevented Trecision from entering satisfying deals with other publishers. GGE has been favourably impressed by the quality of our title, which has always been higly praised by every company we have entered negotiations with, and they have explained us their strategy to take the product to the market successfully. It took both Got Game Entertainment and Trecision a short while to reach an agreement. An official announcement about the release date will be made for the US, Canadian and South-American markets. In the last few months, The Watchmaker has been reviewed and previewed on a large number of gaming websites and it has always been vastly appreciated both for its excellent technical contents and its solid game structure, which boasts a wealth of challenging puzzles, two characters who can be controlled independently by the player, and a truly involving story-line".
Trecision S.p.A., founded in 1991 is Italy's leading independent videogames developer. Its track record includes 15 titles for both the PC and console markets, published and distributed by companies such as Sony, Infogrames, Ubisoft, Midas Interactive and Hasbro.
